Fatal crash on State Road 25 leaves one dead, another injured.

DELPHI, Ind. (WISH) — One person is dead and another sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 25 in Carroll County on Thursday.

Just before noon, deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision near U.S. 421, requesting assistance from the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team.

Investigators report that a 2008 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on State Road 25 when it came to a stop in the left lane. A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, also heading south, swerved to avoid a collision but struck the rear of the Nissan. The Chevrolet subsequently rolled over and came to rest in the median.

Despite efforts by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services, the driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office. The coroner will release the driver’s identity.

The driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries.

Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing. No additional details regarding lane closures or tows have been provided.
