Fatal crash on I-15 involves Kia and parked construction truck

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A fatal crash on Interstate 15 southbound near mile marker 106 resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man early Wednesday morning.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on July 31 at approximately 6:45 a.m. A 2022 Kia Forte, driven by William Rance Bill from St. George, UT, collided with a 2024 Isuzu construction truck that was parked with its direction board and warning lights activated in a construction zone.

Authorities reported that Bill was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Kia was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that remain undisclosed.

The incident marked the 37th fatal crash and 38th fatality investigated by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command this year. The crash led to significant lane closures on the affected freeway for several hours as officers conducted their investigation.

Emergency response teams from local agencies were dispatched to the scene. Additional details regarding the ongoing investigation have not yet been confirmed.
