Fatal crash on Highway 95 claims life of Truckee man.

MALHEUR COUNTY, Ore. — A two-vehicle crash on Highway 95 near milepost 47 resulted in one fatality on Thursday, August 21, shortly before 8 a.m.

Barry Thomas Hostler, 48, of Truckee, Calif., was driving a northbound Subaru Legacy when he collided with a northbound Case International 7220 tractor, operated by Jesse Dean White, 67, of Jordan Valley, which was moving at slow speeds. Hostler was pronounced dead at the scene. White sustained no injuries.

The highway experienced significant delays, remaining closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.

Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, authorities said.
