INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead and another is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on the city’s southwest side Sunday evening.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and South Lynhurst Drive. The vehicles involved were a black pickup truck and a white hatchback.
Upon arrival, officers found one male victim in the pickup truck with moderate injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. In the white hatchback, officers discovered another male victim who was unresponsive. Wayne Township medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The IMPD Fatal Crash Investigation Team is currently examining the incident, and witnesses are cooperating with the investigation. Eastbound Kentucky Avenue from Lynhurst Drive and southbound Lynhurst Drive from Kentucky Avenue will remain closed for several hours while the scene is processed.
