Fatal crash kills three; Florida AG investigates truck driver’s license

TAMPA, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on Thursday that his office has issued criminal and civil subpoenas to White Hawk Carriers following a fatal crash that claimed three lives in St. Lucie County.

The driver involved, Harjinder Singh, has been identified as an undocumented immigrant who allegedly executed a dangerous U-turn while operating a commercial vehicle, resulting in the three fatalities. Authorities stated Singh, who possessed Commercial Driver’s Licenses from both Washington and California, was unable to speak English and could not read road signs.

Uthmeier emphasized that Singh should not have been licensed to drive commercially. “We’re gonna use every legal tool at our disposal to fight back and protect our citizens,” he stated.

In addition to the subpoenas, Uthmeier’s office is seeking information from Washington and California regarding Singh’s CDL acquisition process and the number of other undocumented individuals who may have received similar licenses.

Uthmeier criticized sanctuary state policies, asserting that they protect individuals who “want to steal from our families.” The announcement was made in collaboration with local law enforcement, with Uthmeier expressing gratitude to the sheriff for ongoing efforts to address public safety concerns.
