Taylorsville Man Arrested Following Fatal Crash in Nelson County
NELSON COUNTY, Ky. — Jason Wurts, 25, of Taylorsville, has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash that killed his girlfriend, Morgan Williamson, 27. The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. on June 22.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Wurts was driving under the influence when he lost control of his vehicle on West Stephen Foster Avenue. The car went off the road, striking a tree and an unoccupied vehicle. Williamson was transported to Flaget Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Wurts sustained injuries in the crash and was also hospitalized. His arrest citation indicates he was traveling at least 26 miles per hour over the speed limit at the time of the incident. He faces multiple charges, including murder, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, speeding 26 mph or greater over the limit, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief. Wurts’ bond has been set at $500,000.
