One dead, two injured in crash in Polk County, Wisconsin

A crash in Polk County, Wisconsin, on Tuesday morning left one person dead and two others hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 65 and County Highway F (85th Avenue), approximately 10 minutes west of Amery. A car traveling eastbound failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a southbound pickup.

The driver of the car, 18-year-old Marley John Mickelsen from Lino Lakes, was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the pickup were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident, assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
