Fatal Crash in Greene County Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Tuscaloosa Man Killed in Greene County Crash

A 34-year-old man from Tuscaloosa died in a two-vehicle collision on July 6 at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 59, one mile north of Eutaw, according to Alabama troopers.

Lorenzo Cherry Jr. was driving a 2020 Honda Accord when he struck the rear of a 2024 Ford F-350, operated by 59-year-old Ray A. Colvin of Carrollton. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, authorities said.

Cherry was pronounced dead at the scene, while Colvin sustained injuries and was transported to Northport Medical Center for treatment.

The incident prompted an investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division. No further details have been released, and no road closures were reported.

This incident remains under investigation.
