Fatal crash in Bowdoinham claims life of driver, Nicholas Disy.

BOWDOINHAM, ME — A 52-year-old man died Sunday afternoon when his vehicle left the road and ignited on Interstate 295.

According to Maine State Police, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 4 p.m. at mile marker 37. Witnesses reported a fire on the highway, prompting police to respond to the scene.

Authorities found the vehicle in the median, having struck multiple trees before catching fire. The driver, identified as Nicholas Disy of Milford, Pennsylvania, was the only occupant and sustained fatal injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Police are conducting an investigation and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at 207-624-7076.

The roadway was briefly impacted but has since been cleared.
