ENFIELD, CT — A town employee died following a collision involving a Department of Public Works lawnmower and a vehicle on North Main Street, near town hall, around 12:15 p.m. on [insert date].
Authorities identified the victim as Jamie Nickerson, who was transported to Baystate Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident also resulted in serious injuries to the other driver, who was aided by a good Samaritan and a local fire chief in extinguishing a fire and providing assistance. The injured driver was taken by East Windsor EMS to St. Francis Hospital for further medical treatment.
Investigators from the Enfield Police Department are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
