Lanes County, Ore. — A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 58 near milepost 48 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19.
According to the Oregon State Police, a westbound Nissan Sentra driven by 74-year-old Joseph Bowers Luker Sr. of Eugene left the roadway for unknown reasons, descended an embankment, and rolled onto its side. Luker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that no lane closures were in effect during the on-scene investigation. The Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with the incident.
