A 59-year-old Kingston man faces DWI charges following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 90 in Guilderland late Tuesday night.
According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. when the man drove eastbound in the westbound lanes. His vehicle collided with another car, resulting in a rollover crash. The second vehicle, occupied by two individuals, sustained significant damage, but thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Emergency responders from the Guilderland Fire Department and Albany County EMS arrived at the scene to assist. Both drivers were evaluated on-site, with one transported to an area hospital for precautionary measures.
Authorities closed the westbound lanes of I-90 for approximately one hour while they conducted an investigation and cleared the wreckage. The Kingston man was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
