Man Arrested on DUI Charges Following Fatal Crash in Clark County
(CLARK COUNTY, NV) — A driver has been arrested on DUI charges in connection with a fatal crash on July 5 on Interstate 15.
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol (NSP), a Honda Civic was traveling northbound near mile marker 75 at approximately 6:20 a.m. when it failed to remain in its lane. The vehicle veered onto the right shoulder, striking a paddle marker and a metal post. It subsequently collided with a guardrail, which penetrated the vehicle, coming to rest on its wheels.
Authorities confirmed that 41-year-old Gloria Maria Veganava of Perris, California, a passenger in the Honda, was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries on July 8. The driver, identified as Jose Guadalupe Magallon Mora, also sustained injuries and was hospitalized shortly thereafter. He was later arrested on suspicion of impairment.
As of July 2025, the NSP Southern Command Region One has investigated 36 fatal crashes resulting in 37 fatalities this year.
The investigation is ongoing.
