MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Karen Huger, star of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center on Tuesday morning after serving six months for a DUI offense.
Authorities confirmed Huger was sentenced earlier this year to two years in prison, with one year suspended, following her conviction in December 2024 on multiple DUI counts related to a crash in March 2024. A judge imposed additional fines totaling $2,900.
According to court records, Huger lost control of her 2017 Maserati, resulting in a crash over a median and crosswalk. She stated at the time that she was emotionally distraught and attempted to avoid a head-on collision.
The circumstances of her release are attributed to good behavior during her incarceration. It remains uncertain whether she will resume her role on the reality series following this incident.
