DUI Crash Injures Pedestrian, Leads to Critical Court Hearing

LANCASTER, Ohio (WSYX) — A man accused of driving under the influence and striking a is scheduled for a court appearance today.

The incident occurred on April 13 when Ralph Davis allegedly lost control of his vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic, and hit 29-year-old Kyger Hardy, pinning him against a sign. As a result of the collision, Hardy suffered severe injuries, including a leg amputation, multiple broken bones, and internal trauma.

Following the crash, Davis reportedly fled the scene. He faces charges including aggravated vehicular assault, failure to stop after an accident, and operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).

Davis’s court appearance is set for 1:30 p.m. today. The family of Kyger Hardy is urging the public to report suspected drunk drivers by calling 1-800-GRAB (1-800-472-2384).
