DUI Crash Claims Life of LMPD Officer’s Wife, Suspect Jailed

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. — Adam Sanders, an Oldham County man charged in a drunk driving crash that resulted in the death of an LMPD officer’s wife, has been arrested again.

Authorities report Sanders was taken into custody in early July for allegedly assaulting his fiancée at their home in La Grange. He was previously released on bond while awaiting trial for murder and other charges related to the crash.

According to police, Sanders was driving under the influence in 2024 when he caused a collision on Taylorsville Lake Road. The incident resulted in the death of the wife of an LMPD sergeant and injuries to their teenage daughter.

In response to the new allegations, a judge raised Sanders’ bond to $250,000. He is set to appear in court in August.
