Lede: A man has been arraigned for a crash on I-265 that resulted in the death of a 12-year-old girl and injuries to her mother and infant sister.
Body:
Renaldo James Gill, 34, appeared in court Tuesday facing multiple charges following the incident early Monday morning on the Gene Snyder Freeway. During the hearing, the judge increased his bond from $250,000 to $500,000 in full cash, citing concerns for public safety.
According to authorities, Gill was intoxicated when he collided with a Jeep at approximately 2:30 a.m. The collision ejected 31-year-old Jasmine Simpson and her two children. While Simpson and her infant were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, her 12-year-old daughter tragically died at the scene.
Gill is charged with murder and driving under the influence with a suspended license. He has also been ordered to refrain from any contact with the victims or their family and is prohibited from driving. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 10.
Simpson faces charges as well for failing to properly restrain herself and her children in the vehicle.
