An adult was fatally injured in a vehicle crash while exchanging insurance information in Columbus’ Easton area on Oct. 22.
According to Columbus Police, the incident occurred around 12:09 p.m. at the intersection of Stelzer Road and Montclair Drive, near Abbott Laboratories. The victim was involved in a previous collision when a third vehicle struck one of the parked cars, propelling it into the adult.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, where they were pronounced dead at 1:16 p.m. Authorities stated that the identity of the victim will be released once notifications are made to next of kin.
The driver of the third vehicle remained at the scene following the incident. The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 614-645-4767.
