Driver injured in crash, 1,200 homes lose power in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS — A vehicle crash at Elysian Fields and Mexico Street knocked out power to 1,200 homes early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. Authorities reported that a vehicle struck at least one utility pole, resulting in the outage. The driver sustained injuries; however, their condition remains unspecified.

Entergy crews were on-site Sunday morning to address the situation. Power restoration is anticipated by 9 a.m. as they work to repair the damaged infrastructure.
