Dixons Mills Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

A 34-year-old woman from Dixons Mills died in a single-vehicle crash on July 20 in Marengo County.

Laporsha R. Dumas was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Alabama 10, near the 44-mile marker, approximately one mile west of Dixons Mills.

Authorities reported that Dumas was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ALEA Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the incident. Further information has not been released.
