Deputy Injured in Crash During Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle

MARRERO, La. — A Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputy was injured in a crash during a pursuit of a stolen vehicle on June 25, around 5:30 PM.

According to JPSO officials, the deputy collided with a business sign and a parked car while chasing a stolen vehicle reported out of New Orleans. The incident occurred at the intersection of Barataria and Cousins Boulevard.

Authorities stated that the driver of the stolen vehicle managed to evade capture. The injured deputy was transported to a hospital for treatment, where their condition remains undisclosed.

Witnesses reported hearing sirens and a loud bang, with one bystander capturing footage of the crash. The deputy's injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.
