NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 26000 block of Chef Menteur Highway shortly before 11 p.m. on December 30.
According to authorities, an unidentified driver lost control of their vehicle, crashing into a tree. The vehicle subsequently caught fire while the driver was still inside. Emergency Medical Services pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office is set to determine the victim’s identity following an autopsy. At this time, no additional details are available regarding the incident or any possible witnesses. The investigation remains ongoing.
