Cyclist Killed in Southeast Aurora Crash
AURORA, Colo. — A man, whose identity is pending release, was killed in a bicycle crash in southeast Aurora on Wednesday morning.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. near the intersection of S. Kittredge Way and E. Iliff Avenue. The victim was riding south on S. Kittredge Way when a van struck him from behind. The roadway does not have a designated bicycle lane.
Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash.
Emergency responders transported the cyclist to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity once family notifications are complete.
