CLARK COUNTY, Ind. — All lanes of Interstate 65 North were closed Monday evening due to an injury crash near the 10-mile marker in Sellersburg at around 5:30 p.m.
Authorities reported that the crash involved two vehicles. A pickup truck in the center northbound lanes merged left and collided with a car in the left lane, resulting in both vehicles losing control and hitting the median. The pickup truck rolled over before coming to a stop.
Cameras from the scene showed one vehicle overturned in the median and another lodged against the guardrail. The car’s driver was not injured and was released at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Gloria Jones, 70, a passenger in the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. The northbound lanes reopened to traffic around 8:30 p.m. after several hours of closure, with southbound traffic rerouted to the two far left lanes around the crash site.
Indiana State Police are investigating the incident.
