Boating Accident Injures Holland Man at Park Township Pier
PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 23-year-old man from Holland sustained a head injury during a boating accident at the Holland South Pier on Saturday.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the incident was reported by Michigan DNR employees stationed at Holland State Park. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 17-foot boat that had crashed onto the top of the South Pier. The operator, the 23-year-old man, was ejected from the vessel.
A 22-year-old woman who was also on the boat suffered minor injuries but was treated and released at the scene. The injured man was transported to Corewell Health Butterworth via Aeromed for further medical care.
The incident remains under investigation by the OCSO.
