Bicyclist Dies After Collision in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning and later died at a hospital, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of Carson Avenue, just north of the intersection with East Sumner Avenue. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Authorities reported that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. It remains unclear if there were any additional injuries reported from the incident.
IMPD Sgt. Hibschman emphasized the importance of wearing reflective gear, citing the dark conditions in the area at the time of the crash. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.
