HIT-AND-RUN CRASH LEAVES BICYCLIST CRITICALLY INJURED IN HILLTOP
A hit-and-run crash critically injured a bicyclist in Hilltop on October 15 at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Authorities said the incident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and 4th Avenue when a green sedan struck the bicyclist, who was traveling eastbound. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.
First responders from the HILTOP POLICE DEPARTMENT and HILTOP FIRE RESCUE arrived shortly thereafter. The 34-year-old bicyclist sustained severe injuries and was transported to Hilltop General Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle speeding away, but no further information about the suspect has been confirmed. Authorities are actively investigating the crash and asking anyone with information to contact the HILTOP POLICE DEPARTMENT.
As of 6:15 p.m., Main Street remains closed between 3rd and 5th Avenues to facilitate the investigation and cleanup. Towing services were on the scene to remove debris from the roadway.
