Belgrade Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on Icy Road

BOZEMAN — A Belgrade man died in a single-vehicle crash on Dry Creek Road north of Belgrade on April 17, 2025.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the 76-year-old man was driving a Chevy Colorado around 9:50 a.m. when he lost control while navigating a curve near mile marker 8. The vehicle crossed the centerline, veered off the roadway, and overturned, ultimately resting on its tires.

MHP’s report stated that the man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road conditions were reported to be icy and snow-packed, with speed suspected as a contributing factor. Authorities indicated that alcohol and drugs were not involved in the incident.

The man’s identity has not been released, and further details are pending.
