75-Year-Old Man Dies in Crash Linked to Medical Event in Richford

RICHFORD, Vt. — A 75-year-old man died Thursday afternoon following a suspected medical event that caused him to crash into a home.

According to State Police, troopers were dispatched to a residence on Troy Street, near the intersection with Farrar Street, at approximately 12:02 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a Chevrolet Silverado had veered off the right side of the roadway, sideswiped a house, and come to rest in the intersection.

Authorities identified the driver as Edward Doyle of Richford. Preliminary findings suggest that he suffered a medical event before the vehicle left the roadway, and they believe his death was not a result of the crash itself.

Further details on the incident were not immediately available.
