LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A late-night crash in southwest Louisville resulted in one fatality and one injury on Monday.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on the 9900 block of Dixie Highway. According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, a woman driving a Nissan was traveling northbound in the left lane when she collided head-on with a man driving a Chrysler.
PRP Fire crews had to extricate the woman from her vehicle. She was transported to UofL Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The man in the Chrysler also went to UofL Hospital; however, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The LMPD’s Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
