ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — One person was taken into custody Saturday night following a crash involving a police officer on Ironwood Road.
According to authorities, the officer was traveling southbound when another vehicle attempted to turn onto Dunn Road. The vehicle pulled out in front of the officer, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene but was later located inside a nearby residence. Police suspect that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident.
The officer involved was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
