Dump Truck Driver Killed in I-95 Crash near Churchmans Road

Serious Crash on I-95 Claims Life of Truck Driver

A dump truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident on I-95 south near the Churchmans Road underpass on Sept. 29 at approximately 2:30 p.m., according to Delaware State Police.

Authorities reported that the 46-year-old driver from Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, lost control of the vehicle, abruptly braking and swerving into the concrete median. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver's identity will be disclosed pending family notification.

Emergency responders were on site to assist, and three lanes of the highway were closed for about three hours while the investigation was conducted. The crash is under investigation, and authorities encourage anyone with information to contact Delaware State Police or Delaware Crime Stoppers.

The investigation status remains ongoing.
