Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in crash with deer

TOWN OF WIOTA, Wis. (WKOW) – A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after colliding with a deer Saturday morning on County Trunk Highway N.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred in the 10,000 block of CTH N. The motorcyclist, identified as 65-year-old Danny G. Burkhalter of South Wayne, was riding a 1988 Harley Davidson southbound when he struck the deer, resulting in his ejection from the .

Burkhalter was airlifted to UW Hospital by UW Medflight. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The incident is currently under investigation.
