Four U.S. Army Soldiers Confirmed Dead in Helicopter Crash

Four U.S. Army soldiers tragically lost their lives when their MH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Capitol Forest during a routine training flight on September 17.

The crash occurred in the Summit Lake area of Thurston County, west of Olympia. According to U.S. Army spokesperson Cynthia Smith, the incident is classified as an “aviation mishap” under investigation.

The soldiers were previously presumed dead. They were identified by U.S. Army Special Operations Command as:

  • Sgt. Donavon Scott, 25, from Tacoma, WA
  • Sgt. Jadalyn Good, 23, from Mount Vernon, WA
  • Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, 35, from Sparta, MO
  • Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, 39, from Sanibel, FL

The Army confirmed their sacrifices in service to the nation, with Col. Stephen Smith stating that they exemplified dedication and selflessness. Their loss leaves an unfillable void among their teammates and loved ones.

The investigation continues as authorities seek to determine the exact cause of the crash.
