Hayride accident injures five, including child, at Milburn Orchards.

Lede: A hayride accident at Milburn Orchards near Elkton, Maryland, left one man hospitalized and four others injured on September 20 at approximately 11 a.m.

According to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office, the hayride was transporting 12 to 15 passengers when the incident occurred. The driver, a 25-year-old man, was transported to Christiana Hospital, while the four other injured individuals, including a 2-year-old, sustained “superficial” injuries.

Milburn Orchards is a well-known autumn destination and was recently recognized as one of the 10 best apple orchards in the country by USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
