BRIGHTON, Colo. — A wrong-way crash early Tuesday morning left one man dead and a woman seriously injured.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Mt. Bierstadt Street and E. Bridge Street, according to the Brighton Police Department. Police reported that a 47-year-old male driver was traveling in the wrong direction when he collided head-on with another vehicle.
The wrong-way driver sustained fatal injuries in the crash, while the female driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured and received medical attention at the scene.
Authorities indicated that alcohol may have been a contributing factor. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending coroner identification and notification of next of kin.
