ROCKFORD, Ill. — A vehicle crash near Rockford Airport resulted in the death of a 25-year-old woman early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 14, a vehicle entered the roundabout at the intersection of Kishwaukee St. and Airport Dr. Ciana Talmadge, a backseat passenger from Chicago, was found unresponsive when emergency responders arrived.
Rockford Police and Fire Departments administered life-saving measures before transporting Talmadge and two other occupants to a local hospital. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, she was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m.
The driver, 30-year-old Alazia Hatchett of Orland Hills, has been charged with Aggravated DUI Involving Personal Injury/Death and Reckless Homicide. She is currently held at Winnebago County Jail.
Hatchett is scheduled to appear in court on October 30 at 9:00 a.m., according to authorities. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
