Fatal crash in Mission Valley claims life of 28-year-old woman.

ST. IGNATIUS – A 28-year-old woman was killed in a rollover crash in the Mission Valley on Thursday evening.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on McDonald Lake Road, north of St. Ignatius. The driver was traveling westbound when her vehicle drifted off the roadway.

Authorities reported that the driver overcorrected, causing the pickup truck to skid off the road, roll over, and collide with a fence. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators suspect that drugs and speed may have contributed to the fatal incident. The victim’s name has not been released.

The crash is under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
