One Dead in Interstate 90 Pedestrian Crash in Mineral County
One person is dead following a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Interstate 90 near mile marker 15 in Mineral County on Tuesday morning.
According to the Mineral County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the collision.
Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian did not survive the accident. The driver, who remained at the scene, was not reported injured. The Montana Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
As a result of the incident, eastbound lanes were temporarily closed to facilitate emergency response and investigation efforts. Traffic diversions were in place until the scene was cleared around 10:00 a.m.
