A 15-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a vehicle collision in Norwood, Massachusetts, on Monday morning.

According to Norwood Police, shortly after 8:30 a.m., they responded to an accident involving a cyclist on Walpole Street near Geraldine Drive. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area during the emergency response.

In an update, police confirmed that Walpole Street has since reopened to traffic. The injured teen was transported by ambulance to Norwood Airport, then airlifted to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Authorities stated that all parties involved remained at the scene following the crash. The investigation is ongoing, but officials do not anticipate any charges will be filed. Further details have not been released.
