Jeep Recall Sparks Crash Risk for Nearly 100,000 Vehicles

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Chrysler has recalled nearly 100,000 Jeep vehicles due to a software error that may lead to loss of drive power, raising crash risks.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) produced between 2022 and 2026 are affected. The issue stems from a malfunction in the hybrid control processor, which can result in a complete drive power loss.

Chrysler is actively developing a remedy for the issue. Affected customers will receive notification letters by Oct. 23, 2025.

No confirmed injuries or accidents related to the recall have been reported at this time.
