Westbrook I-95 Crash Closes Both Directions
Interstate 95 in Westbrook is shut down in both directions following a tractor-trailer crash that occurred around 7:42 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Authorities reported that the truck, traveling southbound near exit 64, lost its load of plywood, spilling debris across the highway. Injuries have been reported, but the extent remains unconfirmed.
Traffic is being diverted off I-95 at exit 64. The northbound lanes are closed between exits 64 and 65, while southbound traffic is halted between exits 64 and 63, according to CTRoads.org.
In addition, the Route 145 overpass in Westbrook is closed between Glenwood Road and North High Street due to structural damage. No further details are currently available as the investigation continues.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes while the road remains closed.
