MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger was released Tuesday morning from the Montgomery County Detention Center after serving six months of a two-year DUI sentence.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections, Huger was sentenced earlier this year for a February 2024 DUI crash, receiving one year suspended and ordered to pay $2,900 in fines. Sources attribute her early release to good behavior.
Huger, known as the “Grande Dame of Potomac,” was convicted in December 2024 on seven counts related to the incident, which occurred when she lost control of her 2017 Maserati, crashing over a median and crosswalk. She reported feeling emotionally distraught and attempted to avoid a head-on collision.
It remains unclear if Huger will return to the reality series after her release.
