Fatal Collision in Middletown Under Investigation
MIDDLETOWN, DE — A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 301 resulted in a fatality on September 1 around 1:40 a.m., according to the Delaware State Police.
A Kenworth tractor, driven southbound in the left lane, collided with a northbound Ford Focus traveling in the southbound left lane. The driver of the Ford Focus, a 31-year-old man from Elkton, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The Kenworth tractor was occupied by a 60-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, both from Yonkers, New York, who were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident. Authorities request that anyone with information contact Corporal K. Oakes at (302) 365-8483.
