DEWEY BEACH, Del. — A Maryland woman, 28, was injured on Aug. 30 after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 1.
The incident occurred at 7:20 p.m. near Dagsworthy Avenue. Authorities said the woman was using a crosswalk with operational lights, traveling westbound on the outside lane of the northbound roadway.
The vehicle involved was a Cadillac Escalade registered in Alexandria, Va. The driver remained at the scene, according to police.
The woman was conscious at the time of the crash and was subsequently transported to Beebe Healthcare for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver received multiple traffic summons and was released.
An investigation is ongoing.
