One transported by LifeFlight after I-95 crash in Sidney; three injured
SIDNEY, ME — One person was seriously injured and two others sustained minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m., near mile marker 118.
According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, Shawn Stone, 28, of Presque Isle, has been charged with operating under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless conduct, and aggravated driving to endanger.
Authorities reported that Stone was speeding and driving erratically prior to the crash, which involved the vehicle striking a guardrail and rolling over. Stone and an underage passenger were transported to Maine General Hospital.
Another occupant of the vehicle was airlifted to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
The white van was the only vehicle involved in the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
