NFL Suspends Chiefs' Rashee Rice for Six Games Due to Conduct Violation

The NFL has suspended Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice for six games following a personal conduct policy violation, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero.

Authorities stated Rice was involved in a serious multi-vehicle crash in on March 2024, during which he was driving a Lamborghini SUV at 119 mph. The incident resulted in four injuries and involved a total of six vehicles. SMU football player Teddy Knox, Rice's former teammate, was reported to be driving a Corvette at 116 mph before the incident.

Rice faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and six counts of collision involving injury. He turned himself in to police on April 11, 2024, and was released on bond. In July, he received a sentence of 30 days in jail and five years' probation for his involvement.

As part of the settlement process, the NFL and NFLPA are finalizing details that will allow Rice to make his season debut in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chiefs will open the 2025 season in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers, with additional matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Detroit Lions in subsequent weeks.

Rice was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and led the Chiefs in receiving touchdowns last season. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 4 of 2024.
