76-Year-Old Woman Dies in Dover Crash
DOVER, DE – A 76-year-old woman was killed and a 17-year-old driver sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on July 3 at around 6 p.m.
According to Delaware State Police, a Honda Accord was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Birchfield Drive and Forrest Avenue when it failed to remain stopped and entered the intersection. A Hyundai Veloster was traveling west on Forrest Avenue and collided with the right front of the Honda.
The Honda driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification. The Hyundai driver from Marydel, Maryland, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was partially closed for approximately three-and-a-half hours as the State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene.
