Tractor-Trailer Crash on Interstate 95 Causes Traffic Delays

A tractor-trailer crashed into the median guardrail and caught fire Saturday morning on Interstate 95 north, causing significant traffic delays.

According to Maine State Police, the incident occurred just before 8 a.m. near mile marker 30, between the Kennebunk and Biddeford exits. Authorities believe the driver experienced a medical event, leading to a loss of control and subsequent crash.

The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, suffered minor injuries and was transported to MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Biddeford for treatment.

In response to the incident, the left and middle lanes of I-95 northbound were closed for several hours, impacting traffic flow in the area while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, with assistance from Wells and Kennebunk firefighters, the Maine Turnpike Authority, and two towing companies.
