Man Struck and Killed by SUV on Pulaski Highway

GLASGOW, DE — Bernard Pinkett, 89, of New Castle, was killed after being struck by an SUV on Pulaski Highway (Route 40) on July 4 at approximately 5:07 a.m.

According to the Delaware State Police, Pinkett’s vehicle had broken down, and he attempted to cross the road when a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the left westbound lane collided with him.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, and his 26-year-old female passenger sustained no injuries. Emergency response teams attended the scene, but Pinkett was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
